TAPESTRY CHURCH LAUNCHES FACEBOOK CONTEST TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES
During the time of social distancing, Tapestry Church is launching a #CochraneStrong contest to help the community to come together to help local businesses.
Though a new public Facebook group, the contest encourages residents to practice social distancing and use online ordering, delivery and curbside pickup to buy from local businesses, and to think local when shopping for essential items.
Kelly Reid, Tapestry Church Pastor and contest administrator, said participants can win local gift cards when they post a selfie showing how they are supporting local business.
“It could be a picture of the food or items you had delivered or the item you purchased locally online. Or, snap a photo at the curbside pickup or something else distinctive from the business.”
“This is an unusual time and our small businesses are taking a huge hit. Those small businesses, in regular times, employ local people, support local projects and provide great services to the community,” said Kelly. “We know many local businesses have had to cut hours, cut staff and some have even had to close their doors. We want to inspire Cochrane residents to continue to shop local during the current global crisis.”
Tapestry Church will select a gift card winner at the end of each contest round with rounds continuing as long as there is public interest and while COVID-19 public health orders are in effect. Each round is approximately two weeks long. The deadline to enter round two of the contest is May 4 at 11:59pm.
The grand prize is $100 in local gift cards donated by Tapestry Church. The gift cards are winner’s choice from up to three of the participating businesses.
